9 ideas to pamper yourself at home when you can’t get to the spa!
Bangkok offers endless options for amazing health and wellness spas. However, sometimes you just might not have the time or the budget to visit one. The great news is that there are plenty of ways to pamper yourself at home, even with very little time or money. Here are some of our favorites:
Face masks
Face masks can be an excellent option to reinvigorate and freshen up your skin. Purchase some to have on hand, or make your own! You can even use something as simple as raw honey, for a great DIY moisturizing mask.
Blow wave your hair
Making time for a simple blow wave can help you get that salon to feel without leaving the house. Relax and help yourself to feel fab.
Soak your tired feet
Sit back and soak your feet in a bucket of warm water with a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Dry them thoroughly and finish up by giving them some love with your favorite moisturizer.
Take an invigorating shower
A nice warm shower will nearly always make you feel better. Take it a step further, and try alternating the hot water with a cold once or twice, and notice how great you feel afterward!
Relax into a bath
If you’ve got a little more time, set yourself up for a relaxing bath. Leave all electronic devices outside and grab your favorite book or magazine, and a glass of water to help you stay hydrated. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the bath, and mix in some Epsom salts to help increase your magnesium levels.
Self-massage
Get yourself a tennis ball and use it to target trigger points in your muscles so that you can ease tightness and feel more relaxed. Try standing up and placing one foot on the ball. Use your body weight to apply pressure as you massage through the tight areas of your feet. You can target muscles such as the buttocks and calves in a seated position, and muscles in your back whilst lying on the floor. Purchase a trigger point ball to really get deep into the muscles.
Eye freshener
For tired eyes place a fresh, cold slice of cucumber on each eye, then lie down on your back and relax. As well as helping to relieve tired, puffy skin, you’ll probably feel invigorated simply from taking a rest!
Infused water
Good hydration levels are essential to help you feel great and function well. Instead of having just plain water, make yourself feel a bit more pampered with some delicious infused water. Fill up a glass jug with water and add your favorite fresh-cut fruits and herbs to it. Leave to infuse in the fridge for a while and then enjoy a healthy dose of hydration.
Hair mask
Why not pop on a hair mask at the same time as your face one? You can make a great hair mask simply by whisking some egg yolks together. Apply to dry hair and leave on for 20-30 minutes before washing out.
