For Self or For the Common Good? Scarcity vs Abundance
What good have you done for another person lately? Conversely, what self-benefitting actions have you been taking?
This is a topic that we can all relate to. We must constantly decide if we should do something good for ourselves or help out someone else with the time, money, energy, kindness, or other resources that we have.
And we know the saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” And while I agree that we must first make sure we are safe, healthy, and well before we can fully and without restriction give ourselves in service to another – this type of zero-sum thinking can’t always be the only way. For them to succeed and thrive DOES NOT mean that I must suffer, and vice versa.
Instead, I encourage you to rid yourself of the scarcity mentality and adopt the abundance mentality instead. There are more than enough resources – money, energy, time, and especially love – to go around. And the more we support one another, the better we will feel and the better we will move throughout the world.
We are in this together. That’s the way it’s meant to be. Success is better when shared anyway.
Have some thoughts on this? You know what to do. 🙂
