Focus on the needs and feelings of others, the less attention on your lonely thoughts and feelings. I can walk down the street thinking about myself, my loneliness, and the hopelessness of it all, staring at the sidewalk and sighing to myself. Or I can walk down the street grateful for the diversity of people I get to share the sidewalk with, silently wishing them good health and good fortune, and smiling at each person I meet. The latter is more fun, even though I sometimes have to remind myself to do it on purpose.

When I’m feeling really sad I like to call my friends and just express how I feel. Call someone who you are close to and you know that they will be there for you and accept what ever problems you have. Having emotional support is always helpful. After talking to my friends I always feel a lot better because I know someone still cares about me 🙂

Practice self-love, self-love is an ongoing journey. To get there, there are so many small steps and some hindrances you would encounter, but if you can live with integrity, become your wholeness; in other words, become the best version of yourself, you will not have to deal with your sadness and loneliness. Obviously, I feel that sometimes, we are human beings, but I could come back to the center faster when I incorporate self-love or spirituality in my life. You see, being sad, feeling lonely; it’s just a state of mind and you are not your mind.
